I'm plotting and getting ready
I've got the book, had to buy it when I saw it on Colleen's blog (crazy for primitive quilts) and boy is it worth every penny. Now to collect some more wools. If you have any great sources for purchasing wool, please let me know. Also I have some wool felt. Should I wash it to make it more felted and use it, yes or no.

Hi Robin, I don't recommend using wool felt, at least not for the larger background pieces. When I first starting working with wool or wool felt I used it and it was fine for me at the time. Looking back, I don't like the pieces as much as the ones I've worked all in wool. There is something about the depth and feeling of wool that makes it so much nicer then the wool felt. It would be great to use smaller pieces for applique since there are so many colors available. This is just MHO.
I went to Goodwill today and bought 4 womens wool blazers and 2 mens sport coats. They have to be 100% wool and then I felted them when I got home in the washing machine...hot wash and hot dry. I have some really nice colors/tweeds. Very economical also.
I played with my wool today and yes I have some wool felt...in fact I washed them this afternoon and hung them to dry. I like wool felt..after it has been washed. I hand washed them in really hot water and then hung them to dry as I don't have a dryer handy. They usually turn out nice and crinkly and soft. I use my iron to flatten them but not too much as I like the pebbly texture. Try it out and see if you like it. Remember it is your quilt and go with what YOU like...there are no right or wrong ways of doing this! That's what is so fun about it!!

I couldn't resist and bought the book, too. I think Primitive Gatherings is selling a bundle of wool pieces for this quilt, if I'm not mistaken.
I went out today to my local Goodwill and was able to get my wool stash started. I found 2-ladies jackets and 2-men's jackets. Now I just have to wash them. Is it best to cut them apart first?
