This bunny running through the garden just shouts spring....It is the work of one of my friends, Jan Gartland in my Wool Crazy classes. I thought you'd enjoy seeing it....Isn't it great? Hope spring is showing up in your back yards!

OMG! Look what I found!

Have you ever been looking for one thing and stumbled upon something else that so blew your mind that you forgot what the heck you were looking for? Hello?

That's what happened to me. I was minding my own business doing a search for something and somehow, I have no idea what I was looking for or how I came to be at this particular spot but...look what I found!

My life in wool thus far

Here is what I have completed so far on my "wool crazy" block.
The first block will represent the first twenty years of my life.
So far I have stitched...
the baby carriage for my birth date...
the antique lace butterfly, representing the journey of growing into a young woman...
the Dutch windmill and tulip.
I am first generation American, my parents immigrated along with my sister to the US a little over 50 years ago, all my relatives still live in Holland and although I don't live there and am very happy to live here in the US, I still feel a strong connection to Holland.

Once all the appliques are stitched onto the block, I will go back "fancy" things up with some more embellishment.

If my block looks a little different from the others it is because I have had to change my layering method on my block slightly from the perfect way that JoAnn Mullaly has instructed. I have done this only because I have some health issues that effect my hands and I needed to improvise a little to making the hand stitching more comfortable and possible for me.

I am SO enjoying stitching in wool and hope that you all are enjoying it as much also.

Progress

I'm making progress on my crazy quilt and finding that it just seems to lead you to what to add and where to put it once it gets started. Here is a picture of what I have finished to date. The fence isn't quite finished.

                               I've really enjoyed the time I have spent on this project.....more ideas are coming  but I had to include this red ribbon...it was on my Valentine's card from DH :0).
